What Can I Say?
This paper now lies close to you
And feels your tender touch.
Of all the things I'd love to do,
I guess that's just too much.
But can I say I love you?
And can I say I cry?
And can I say I'll love you
Until the day I die?
This page now looks you in the face.
That's more than I can do.
I dream I'll have you sometime, someplace,
And you will have me, too.
But can I say I love you?
And can I say I cried?
And can I say just one thing more?
You know, my love, I tried.
