53 Setting the Sun Standing by a golden sea, Lighted by the sun, which is me, Waiting for the light to set, The sky gets dark as the sun gets wet. And I wonder if its absence Is why I stay out at night. By day I'm always out of sight. Is this why I stay inside And, from the sun, which is me, I hide? Yet the moon always finds me And reflects o'er the sea, And the stars just gaze down from the sky And watch this foolish dark sun cry. Richard C. Hayner 1973 ©
