By Morning
Last night, my eyes had lost their sight.
It was too dark to see the right.
I thought I'd wait for morning light,
And so, I slept away the night.
But in the morn, a fog had crept,
And from the view, my eyes were kept.
So, while my mind had calmly slept,
I know my heart, it must have wept.
But then, I heard your voice, so weak,
Without your heart, you tried to speak.
I saw the thing you strived to seek.
Our love, my love, was just a peek.
